Garden Club Monthly Meeting

The Talent Garden Club has monthly meetings/events (typically the first Saturday of each month). We meet at the Talent Library for presentations (guest speaker series), seed exchange, business meetings, etc.  We email our Talent Garden Club distribution list with details for each meeting/event.

Guest Speaker Series

The Talent Garden Club invites subject matter experts to give presentations on their area of expertise.  There are myriad topics, including types of gardening, native plants, pollinators, composting, mulching, pruning, pest control, growing specific plants, conservation, watershed restoration, garden-related art, and writing.

February Seed Exchange

We have a seed exchange every year during our February garden club meeting.  The event is free.  We encourage people to bring seeds and plants to share. The seeds vary year to year and usually include vegetables and flowers.

Garden Tours

We conduct multiple garden tours throughout the year.  These tours include public gardens such as local plant nurseries, parks, watersheds, orchards, and vineyards. We also tour club members’ gardens.

Harvest Festival

The Talent Garden Club participates in the Talent Harvest Festival held in October each year. We have a kids activity table and a table with club information, flowers, gardening books, seeds, etc. The booth is staffed by club member volunteers.

Business Meetings

We hold a business meeting monthly (typically starting at 11 a.m.), which usually follows the guest speaker or other event that month.  During the business meeting, we plan future meeting content, community outreach, plant sale details, etc. Anyone from the Talent Garden Club is welcome and encouraged to attend!

May Plant Sale

We have a plant sale every year in May in order to raise funds for scholarships, community garden projects, and other important community outreach.  We typically have for sale each year well over a hundred varieties of tomatoes, and a wide variety of flowers, vegetable starts, perennials, and more. The specific varieties vary from year to year. The in-person plant sale is held at 50 Talent Ave from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Saturday before Mother’s Day.  Each year, we publish new PDF files on this website for the specific tomatoes we will be selling at the sale.
