Community

The Talent Garden Club is an organization that promotes environmentally healthy practices, educates our community about best gardening practices, encourages the formation of pollinator gardens and native plant use, builds community connections, and finances scholarships for students pursuing horticulture related majors, and other important community outreach.

Outreach (support and donations)

Our annual plant sale raises funds so we are able to provide scholarships and grants to organizations such as:

  • Scholarships to Phoenix High School seniors pursuing higher education in horticulture or environmental studies
  • Rogue Valley Farm to School – educates children about our food system through hands-on farm and garden programs
  • Rogue River Watershed Council – enhances resilience in Rogue River watersheds through ecological restoration and engagement with community partners
  • ACCESS – provides food, warmth, and shelter to promote stability for vulnerable populations
  • CASA – Court Appointed Special Advocates – CASAs – are specially trained volunteers that the local court appoints to advocate for the best interests of children who have been traumatized by abuse or neglect to make sure these children are safe and thrive
  • Bee City Talent (affiliate of Bee City USA – volunteers who support multiple educational pollinator gardens in the city, certifies pollinator gardens in Talent, etc.
  • Rogue Food Unites – uses food to heal individuals and communities during times of crisis – through partnerships with regional restaurants, farms, vendors, and stores, has recirculated nearly $18 million into our local economies since September 2020.
